Bloom Where You Are Planted

The piece "Bloom Where You Are Planted" reflects Jessica’s deep commitment to embracing the present moment and finding beauty, strength, and purpose in one's current circumstances. Inspired by personal experiences of resilience, transition, and healing, the work encourages viewers to root themselves in the here and now, regardless of where life has led them. With vibrant florals and a sense of explosive joy, the piece speaks to the transformative power of acceptance and growth. This work is a visual love letter to resilience, community, and the everyday beauty found in accepting the present.

Inez

Jessica Wood grew up in rural North Carolina wedged between Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks. Living across the road from her grandmother, she would run barefoot through lush grass and fresh air to sit, talk, eat, and gaze at flowers with her. Being inspired by her grandmother and her flower garden from a young age has helped to shape Jessica's work. She now paints flowers to brighten the lives of those around her. Combining different mediums, Jessica creates vibrant, colorful paintings from her imagination that draw from past experiences and memories. Her current body of work titled "Floral Still Life Series" strives to be a modern take on the traditional still life art form.
